Trail Life Troop 828 1st Camp-out

Trail Life Troop 828 has now completed its first camp-out. 10 boys and 4 adults, including a couple of brothers from the Woodlands group, camped out at Mr. Alf’s farm (a.k.a. the Cheerful Chicken Ranch). The campers set up camp on Friday evening March 14 and packed up Sunday morning March 16. Scouts learned to measure their pace count and used this skill to measure the distance traveled during a hike through the wooded part of the farm and neighboring property. The hike through the swamp was, in my opinion at least, the most fun. Saturday night, campers enjoyed hot apple

cobbler and s’mores around the campfire. The goat that jumped up onto the seat in our car was also definitely a highlight. All in all it was a fun and successful camp-out.
